Our kitchen island had a melamine top that was degraded. I decided on stainless as a replacement but kind of choked at the custom manufacturing price tag. I bought the 30x60" version of this prep table. The previous island top was a weird 27 x 57" We used just the top of the prep table. It sits right on top of the old surface. My handy spouse spent about an hour getting it configured then we spent another hour picking off the incredibly sticky protective plastic it came wrapped in. Then a good scrubbing with barkeeper's friend and voila! I love it! And we will likely use the legs and lower shelf in some manner in our greenhouse or workshop.
