Review on Aqueon LED Aquarium Light Fixture: Illuminating Your Underwater World with Spectacular Brilliance by Arlene Byrd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The 48 inch flashlight worked great for almost 3.5 years.

I ordered this and 2 additional LED modules for my 55 gallon aquarium. The 48 inch flashlight worked fine for almost 3.5 years, then the power supply started to fail. The timer function is fantastic and still works, I can control each LED module with separate time programs. The only problem I have with this device is that you cannot replace the power supply, you have to replace the entire device. To get the required brightness for fish and plants, you need at least one additional LED module, which is of course sold separately. In order for your power supply to survive power outages and surges, you must connect it to a UPS. I have found that if you leave the lights on too long (10+ hours a day) the algae love it and bloom beautifully giving you extra work to keep the aquarium clean. I plan to order a replacement light and use my current LED modules to increase the light. If the power supply was replaceable, affordable and lasted a bit longer I would give it 5 stars. The timer function makes this lamp really perfect. You know I hate it when I mix up two different models. EDGE has an excellent timer. This one just has great lights that you have to turn on with a timer, but with home automation switches I have a timer for the main lights that works great. just can't use night lights with a separate timer setting.
