with the help of a power tool. Well attached to my cordless drill this was just what I needed. Using it for 20 minutes gave me a high gloss finish that hours of manual rubbing couldn't match. I used Howard's Shine Restoration and one of those wool pads at low speed. I then laid down a clean paper towel to remove the cloudy, semi-dry film of compound that remained on the finish. I think this is where most of the polishing happened. I then used another clean pad to buff the wax paste layer. The guitar now has the high gloss finish I was looking for. The polishing pads are thick and soft. They are very easy to change, but are firmly attached with Velcro when in use. I had no problem with the disc unscrewing during use or when stopping the drill, as some other reviewers have pointed out - maybe I wasn't spinning it as quickly when polishing an entire car instead of a small guitar, or maybe tightening I just do it, who knows? Can't comment on durability yet but the pads appear to be well built and I expect them to last a long time. drill if I am polishing a large area, e.g. a car. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait to try it on my glass shower doors.
