Review on Standard Horizon GX1850W NMEA2000 Explorer by Talapon Blackburn

Very compact and functional radio with DSL. Easy installation but unfortunately it doesn't recognize any of the GPS modules on the nmea network. Both see it, so the network works. A call to tech support didn't help, searching the web turned up several discussion group threads suggesting this is an unresolved issue. I connected nmea 0183 and now it is receiving GPS data (from a device). I'll live with that, but am disappointed with the failure of nmea's plug and play functionality. The only problem is that there is no speaker in the microphone. My old radio had one so I miss it. Otherwise a solid radio, compact and easy to use. I spent a lot of time digging through the menu
