Review on Lufkin HX46N Wood Rule Hook by Joe Patterson

The Lufkins quality of this product (Red End folding rule with a brass hook on one end and a sliding brass extension on the other end) has seriously deteriorated after 25 years of ownership and love to myself bought one for my son as a gift I had to return it because the sliding brass end slipped right out of the ruler when I used it I got a replacement from Revain with no problems (yay!) but to my chagrin it was opposite brass "end hooks" of the ruler out of order.Second, I decided to get my Dremel Electric Grinder along with a few other small modeling tools and performed an operation on the hook to get it working properly (the operation seemed to be the best way to get a working folding ruler) and parts at each end). Covering the increment marks with a coat of nail polish to keep the marks for another 25 years, followed by a drop of oil on each joint.
