Although the sound card itself works quite well, the software that comes with it doesn't allow your music players to play 5.1 sound. If you call the company's tech support (""Trung") (find them in the online phone book), it tells you it will only play 2.1 unless you buy another program for it $100. So is it really cheap? In fact, after many hours of googling, I couldn't find any software that did what they said and they didn't recommend any particular program. I was able to get Winamp to switch to anything close to 5.1 using to play on their own internal settings (no center channel) This seems to be the only way to get this to work Every program other than Windows Media Player (which works fine) needs to be adjusted MusicMatch has no internal components to make this work allow, and therefore can only be played in Version 2.1 The company that sells the product, no matter how cheap it may be, does not have to tell you that the software is included, but to tell you that "the softw are not allowing you to use the full potential of the board. Try to find one that can.β --- Oh, and there's no connector on the electronic board to plug in the digital audio cable from your CD or DVD player. You must use an analog. Now I have to go and buy a Creative product, they always come with good software.
