Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Omix-Ada 16502.01 Axle Cover Gasket: Superior Sealing Solution for Optimal Axle Performance by Joseph Reed

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not for the love of gaskets

I bought two gaskets for my 1975 Jeep CJ-5 - one for a Dana 30 front and one for a Dana 44 rear. Both were Omix Ada pads. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because when I go above 5 stars for this review, a small pop-up dialog shows "Like". Hey, those are seals, not my Jeep or my F150 or um. my wife and children. So yes. However, I believe that if I were capable of love, they would be strong competitors. You may be considering buying because you have heard bad things about this Omix-Ada company. You can find all sorts of horror stories about quality issues on the Jeep forums. So I paused before hitting the buy button on those two pads. But I bought an Omix-Ada fan shroud before and was quite happy with it. I am pleased to report that these spacers fit perfectly and were cut beautifully. There was enough material on all mating surfaces to prevent leakage and the diff cover bolts went in easily because the holes were right in the middle. Thinking about using RTV instead of pads? Forget it. Your father didn't raise a lazy bum. He just wasn't that kind of person. RTV is the work of the devil. I had to clean up the work done by Yahoo (not the search engine) that was throwing my covers in front of me with this mess. It took a red head air sander and lots of time to get both mating surfaces very clean. Clean these surfaces for these seals and the next time you need to re-grease your transmission the job will be easy. I did my job 3 weeks ago. You didn't spill a drop. Has even done some dirty work at Hollister Hills SVRA since then. All is well with these parts. Buy these inexpensive pads. get the job done Thanks to your dad for not raising a bum. Thank you for reminding me. Thank you for reading this far.
