The VVXX Paring Knife is a small sharp blade that effectively peels and slices fruit. The knife is sharp enough to easily cut through the thin and tender skin without tearing, and can easily cut the fruit into pieces. The knife lies well in the hand and does not slip when holding and cleaning. Appearance wise I don't mind a solid color knife and blade for this particular knife, but am wondering if the paint will chip as the color appears "spray painted". Considering the knife only costs about $16, that's not a lot, but if you really don't like the look of the blade, I personally wouldn't buy it so I wouldn't have to worry about the stain coming off. All in all, it's not a bad knife, but it probably won't be used like my other knives for everyday use.
