Review on πŸ”ͺ Unleash Maximum Cutting Power with Titan Elite Industrial Grade Heavy Duty Scissor by Amanda Castillo

Tale of Two Scissors.

I'm fed up with useless kitchen scissors. I did a little research and immediately ordered 2 different pairs. Titan Elite Heavy Duty Industrial Scissors (Revain ASIN: B0046EBW1C, Model Number: D50004) for $12.89 and Kitchenaid Classic Soft Handle Scissors. Both came from Revain in the same package. I have pretty big hands. I don't eat meat often. For my purposes they could be used for trimming thick flower stems, opening other packaging, cutting through carpet, cardboard, zip ties, cable ties, etc. First impressions: Titan Elite is the tougher job of the two and - who cares - it's pretty accurate at cutting, it cuts through paper and thin plastic without making that "notch" or breaking at the end of the cut - a absolutely clean cut. The cutting motion is a bit "sticky". I'd think if you cut meat bones on a regular basis I'd give the Titan credit for its durability, but you won't notice a difference unless you're in a constant heavy-duty situation. As for carpets, I would prefer Titan over Kitchen-Aid (below). Note: Titan Elite are NOT overloaded, you can reach them easily. vs. Classic KitchenAid scissors (Revain ASIN: B0050U240O, item number: KC351OHOBA). Better fits my large hands, much more comfortable straight away. There is no stickiness in the work of the blade. Seemed *a little* more adept running the nose on this one. This will probably be my first choice for all but the biggest jobs. They also cost 1/3 less than the Titan Elite at $8.41. MY ONE LITTLE TALK about Kitchen Aid: They have the most diabolical packaging (heavy, die-cut/molten clear plastic, cardboard, and zip-ties). Usually I can deflate, but not in this case. I had to use Titan Elite to open the Kitchen Aid pack! . and even then it was a struggle. I spent 5 minutes on this. Dear KitchenAid! Stop packing the scissors! You're not building a safe house or a Maginot Line! - Let people get to your product! RANT OVER. SUMMARY: They are both good and inexpensive. I'm leaning towards Kitchen Aid but will use both. Looking at them, I thought that for my purposes they serve 5-7 years. It fits me. UPDATE 12/02/2014: I now know that I totally prefer Kitchen-Aid scissors to Titans. The Titan scissors were moved to the tool wall in my basement (which isn't used every day) and I've bought two more Kitchen-Aids - they're so good. I've found the one I keep next to the washer/dryer to be accurate enough to cut loose threads but strong enough to cut through thick cardboard.
