I used this on my washer and dryer because I live in Arizona where rainy season thunderstorms can cause surges that damage modern electronically controlled equipment. This seemed like the perfect solution for that. I went to do laundry this weekend and the dryer wouldn't turn on. I examined the device and found that it had moved slightly away from the wall. When I tried to push it back against the wall there was a pop and a flash and that was it. Luckily the circuit breaker worked but now I have to buy a replacement.
