So after much searching for skates online and in stores I decided I would order these for the comfort, fit and price. Now, based on a previous review, I have chosen a size smaller than my daughter's actual shoe size. It was top notch! The comfort of the foam fur cuffs around the ankle was a delightful bonus. The Velcro on the top not only helps to tighten the shoes, but also prevents the laces from coming loose. My daughter is 12 years old and goes horseback riding at least once a week in the winter. We found it to be a great skate with just the right amount of stiffness, yet flexible enough to allow her to skate backwards and do other cool tricks without straining her calves.
