Good beginner skates considering they are not leather. Our daughter loved the extra ankle padding and the good support. The ratchet strap is also a nice addition. They are larger than normal figure skates and the shoe looks more like a hockey shoe. My teenager loves them and uses them for skating (beginners) with no problem. But if you're looking for traditional skates for skating lessons, these boots aren't for you.
