I have never used this type of buckle before and decided to give it a try. All of my other belts have always broken at the buckle clasp long before the belt needed replacing. The ratchet buckle that comes with this belt is easy to use and it seems like the belt holds up much better and looks 'fresh' longer without the creases that are just part of life with 'regular' types of buckles. I also love that this buckle system gives you MUCH more buckle length variability - perfect for a large dinner party - and normal weight variability. The belt is also made of high-quality leather. I'm glad I tried it!
