Revainrating 4 out of 5

It has been working well for more than 1 year

14 months ago I used this 240GB SSD as a replacement for my main PC. FYI it was running Windows 7 (64-bit) with 16GB of memory, an Asus P8Z77-V motherboard with an Intel i7 3770 processor, a Seasonic SS-560KM PSU and an optional hard drive (WD1002FAEX, 1TB, black) , all housed in an Antec P183 chassis, supporting Asus VE278Q HD monitor and Edifier Exclaim e10 speakers. 6 months ago I upgraded my sister-in-law's old laptop. I replaced her 5400RPM hard drive with a new 240GB Intel SSD. FYI, I also took the opportunity to upgrade their RAM from 2GB to 4GB and replaced their 32-bit Vista OS with 64-bit Windows 7. Although their motherboard barely met the minimum requirements for an SSD, their system became MUCH faster after the update! Windows is faster. When switching from a standard hard drive to an SSD, take the opportunity to install the latest version of Windows! Tip 2: Don't defrag your SSD. There would be no benefit. And all you have to do is wear it out (SSDs have a finite number of erase cycles). Tip 3: From time to time (ie about once a week) run the Intel SSD Optimizer located in the Intel SSD Toolbox. . In addition, you can set up a toolbox that runs regularly. Note. In the last months of 2013 the Intel 520 SSD was replaced by the Intel 530 SSD. The new model is based on 20nm MLC NAND Flash (instead of 25nm MLC NAND Flash in the 520) and is cheaper.
