Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Enhanced Printing Experience with the Upgraded SUNLU 310X310X400Mm Printing Assembly by Bobby Martinez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great large format printer for hobbyists!

Media could not be loaded. I also had a JG Aurora A5 machine, similar in size but a printer disaster and I was a little concerned the Sunlu S8 might run into the same problems. However, after using this printer for about a month, I am very satisfied with its performance. The build volume is HUGE compared to my 220mm x 220mm x 250mm machine used for everyday printing, the frame is very stable for this height and the print quality is superb. Assembly was quick and easy, and the first print started within half an hour of opening the box. After a little tweaking (which I think every printer needs) I got some really great calibration prints. has changed the glass platform to a magnetic flexible build plate to make working in the "production cycle” more comfortable. I also installed a BMG style dual gear extruder, mainly because that's the default extruder I use on all my machines. In the future I may take full advantage of the open source printer architecture and update the motherboard and stepper motor drivers for quiet printing, but that's not necessary at the moment, the noise level is about what you would expect from A4988 drivers. which is not unbearable. The S8 has become my go-to printer for PLA models and has proven reliable enough that it's unmanageable after the first coat or two. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to print things like the ever-popular Mandalorian helmet, large cosplay pieces, or large batches of small pieces.
