After reading most of the reviews, I decided to go with a larger size, fearing that a size too small would be unwearable. Much to my surprise, while the size I ordered was snug, it was not too tight. These garments are well made of heavy construction. I have worn it for many hours continuously with no real issues of discomfort such as cutting or binding. I have back problems. This garment gives good back support, which was a major reason for the purchase. The shoulder strap style helps to eliminate or minimize the "bulge above" which is sometimes seen with waist cinchers. Since the garments are heavy and contain some sort of elastic or rubber, expect them to be hot to wear. This comes with the territory and I do not find this to be an especial problem. The extra retained heat in the midriff is felt by some to be an aid to weight reduction such as sold in products like the "Belly Burner" etc. I am not sure about that as I could find no clinical studies that support this, but it probably does not hurt. However if you cannot tolerate a tight fitting garment and the retained heat that comes with it, then this is not for you. If on the other hand you seek a compression garment with good support and is reasonably comfortable to wear for long periods, then this is a good value.
