Approximately 30 seconds after the crayons are in the water, they begin to dissolve and the color seeps into the bath water. The title says this shouldn't happen. Drawings are also immediately washed off in a water bath. This eliminates the need for a cleanse as the pattern is short-lived, but defeats the point of having a bath stick in the first place. I could give my kids a set of watercolors for the bath and pretty much do the same thing as these bath sticks. When it comes to rinsing the crayon out of the tub, I mentioned that it happens naturally and pretty much instantly. Ironically, they are generally not easy to clean due to paint dripping onto the tub when stored in a mesh bag. This leaves a trail of paint on the tub wall that leads to the drain. It's not that easy to clean. Finally, the crayons fall out of the plastic holders easily and are not easy to pull out or remove.
