I saw a lot of comments that this is not suitable for large dogs. I do not agree! My Great Dane is small (about 105 pounds) but this has worked great for her. She gets 1 1/2 cups of dry food twice a day. This little bowl easily held 1 1/2 cups of large breed food and definitely 2 cups as advertised. It didn't overflow. She eats from a raised feeder and I placed this bowl in her very large aluminum bowl in the raised feeder. It worked great! She couldn't knock that bowl over and it definitely slowed her down. However, she was able to get all the groceries. I haven't tried canned food yet, but that shouldn't be a problem. I'm so glad I bought this item because she ate so quickly and didn't chew her food and then often vomited it all up again. Problem solved! The shell makes a well-made and robust impression. I highly recommend this bowl!
