and it was starting to show its age - especially in the cool shot feature, which I use all the time -.

I'm still thinking about what to think of this hair dryer. My old dryer was a Conair and it was starting to show its age especially in the cold shot feature which I use all the time so I did a lot of research and settled on this one. The main reason I chose it was the ionic, ceramic and pearly properties. I blow dry my hair about every other day and I need it to stay healthy in all the heat. I part my shoulder-length, thick hair and brush through each section, taking special care to divide each section into smaller, brush-sized sections. Round brush until curls appear, then use a cold shot. I'm a round brush fanatic and perfectionist, which means it can take about half an hour to finish. This morning was my first morning of doing a test run with this dryer. I have a list of pros and cons. Advantages: 1. Good selection of cold, warm and hot air. I like to alternate between medium and hot air drying depending on how defined curls I want in each section.2. The cold shot button is amazing - provides a good flow of cool air.3. I really felt like my hair was soft and almost frizz-free. The explosive power of the high function is impressive. It's really powerful! Cons: 1. It's REALLY heavy. For someone who is going to spend about half an hour every day styling their hair and initially has sore hands, this was very difficult. I also do each small section perfectly and it takes a minute or two per small brush sized section. And the trick to getting a good round brush hairstyle is to get the section right the first time, before it gets too dry to fix. But the heaviness wore down my arms and wrists, and as a result, I half-gained on some areas that were proving to be "normal" rather than "ideal." I was able to achieve perfection with my old dryer.2. This morning's haircut took 50 minutes and wasn't quite my usual preferences. That may be because I'm still getting used to the variety of settings and finding my way around the new dryer, i.e. new technology. But it still annoyed me.3. A little fuse must have blown or something, because halfway through, the dryer stopped and my light in my room went out. But everything came back quickly and worked for me.4. It's the middle of the day. My style still looks good, but the style isn't as defined as I'd like and I could have gotten it off my old dryer. I plan to update my review in a week or two. I will test this hair dryer and see what I can do to continue learning how to use it better and find the best way to quickly and effectively get a style that I like and that suits my hair. If it doesn't fit what I need I will return it. But I hope that my own knowledge will help me to use them better.
