Review on 🍽️ Cuisinart DLC-10SYP1 Food Processor, 7 Cup Capacity, White - Top-rated Kitchen Appliance by John Kahsar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Possibly the best intermediate available. . .

I have been using this food processor every other day since I bought it 5 weeks ago. Pros: The engine seems to be a strong feature of this 'medium' performance 7cc processor. It's 7-8 cups heavier than other processors and I like that feature. The controls are as simple as it gets. Its appearance is optional. I found the unit relatively easy to clean. Cons: I have 2 main issues with the device. Its actual working capacity is 3 to 3 1/2 cups. Thicker preparations can increase its capacity up to 4 cups. Liquid foods such as salsa, broth, and vegetables will spill under acceleration unless you hold the food at least 1/2 inch below the top of the blade hub. Be ready to clean up. Top to bottom pressure does not help stop the leak. The upper and lower components do not fit together exactly, there is no effective seal. My first attempts leaked enough liquid, so I went online to see if my unit was missing a gasket. This restriction only applies if you have a large family. I believe the device is still the best intermediate I've seen. The food slider locking mechanism has an unusual locking method that doesn't look like it will survive my expected lifespan for a well-made kitchen utensil. However, I've found that it works quickly on any food I left out. It stays cool even after several minutes of continuous use. I find this model does a good job of making mayonnaise quickly. (I'll never buy store-bought mayonnaise or hummus again!) I'm in a health food renaissance and this Cusinart has given me the ability to control the food I eat. I noticed on the Cuisinart website that this model is currently out of production so there may be some bargain prices available.
