Slicing cheese with wire is the only way out and this slicer comes with interchangeable wires which makes it awesome. Stainless steel is easy to clean and the overall product is very durable. Don't be fooled by "lines" for cutting, unless you're looking for 1/2" thick slices! But the lines come in handy for keeping the block square on the board. Unfortunately, the slot is very wide for the wire, no compartment underneath.This causes the cheese to fall onto your table or countertop unless you place it on a plate or napkin.This makes the slicer less user friendly which is why I gave it a lower rating have.
