VERY impressed so far

I only received this hood a few days ago and have only used it for a few minutes so far. I will come back later with a more detailed review when I use it longer. First let me say that I am what most would call an amateur welder, not a professional. I bought this out of frustration with my very expensive Miller Elite hood, which I have to fiddle with for 15-20 minutes to turn it on every time I use it. The switches are very finicky. I had a flare up the other day after it wouldn't turn on after a 10 minute stop between welds. Even though the YESWELDER hood was 1/6 the price of my Miller, I like it a lot better already! The suspension is much more adjustable and comfortable. Miller will fall if I try to turn him over or lean forward. I LOVE the very large field of view and the true color lens. It took me a few welds to believe that the light blue would protect my eyes as well as the dark green I was used to, but once I got used to it, I found I could see my welds a lot better than before, and my eyes. the weld seams improved immediately as a result. The only minor downside, as Da points out, was that the hood flattened out a bit in the box and I haven't yet tried reshaping it with a hair dryer like Da recommends. This doesn't affect function or comfort, but it's said to be quicker to put on and even more comfortable when I expand it. At the moment based on my first impressions I would highly recommend this hood to a friend and would buy another if needed. Much better value than any Miller. Okay, I took the time to heat up the hood with a hair dryer and keep the sides cold to expand. This took about 10 minutes and as expected the hood is easier to put on and take off, no more lowering the back brace. The time it takes to adjust the two top straps and padded back strap to the shape of your head is well worth the few minutes. I was afraid the heat would damage the decorative design, but I was surprised to find that these aren't just stickers as I expected, but are built right into the plastic itself. The lens hood also comes with an extra battery, clear bezel covers, and a "mixer bag" (pun intended) that carried a bag with so many threads I thought it must be a puppet. I never understood why it had so many threads and how it was supposed to work, I just grabbed the open end and carried it like a sack. ;-)
