Review on Durable and Elevated: The Petmate 🛏️ Durabed Pet Bed for Your Beloved Companion by Katie Bobzien

I bought two of these beds over 18 months ago. At that time we had two "medium" dogs that weighed about 30 and 35 pounds. The beds were perfect for her. Six months ago we had a German Shepherd puppy who has grown to about 70 pounds. He loves jumping on the bed. I had to retighten the bolts every few days, which was not just because the bolts were loose, but because the bolts were actually "stretching". One stretched to about 1/2 its original thickness (just above the threads) and just broke on the final tightening. I know the bed shouldn't be able to support a 70-pound GSD "puppy" jumping on it, but I'm disappointed that the studs aren't made of "hardened" material. You shouldn't stretch. Luckily I have two beds and will be using one for parts and hope it lasts a few more months. This bed would have been much better if the manufacturer had installed two parallel rails on each of the three sides instead of just one. This reduces the stress on the screws. This actually gave me the idea of building a "Frankenbett" out of two beds I have.
