After building myself a new desk last year I was looking for a new chair, this was inexpensive and with my back problems I needed something supportive but comfortable. I've tried chairs that cost at least $200 more, and apart from the transition between the lumbar and upper supports, there's an unpadded bar that digs into my back when I recline. However, $4 closed-cell styrofoam solved that problem. Overall, this chair keeps me from slouching in the chair and keeps me in a position that helps my back a lot. I was also skeptical about the mesh material, which feels more like corduroy than the lightweight mesh I would like, although our cat usually scratches it and it hasn't given way yet. In terms of long term support and durability we'll see but this chair is extremely comfortable, I'm 6ft 185 and it fits me perfectly.
