Review on 🔌 Kensington SD3000v USB 3.0 Single Display Docking Station - Enhanced Connectivity and Universal Compatibility (K33970US) by Abdullah Huan

I bought this product to use at home with my MBP. I love the look of the docking station, it fits my desk layout perfectly. The problem starts when you have to go to the website to get the software to make the video part work with Mountain Lion when the drivers for the Windows line (except Windows 8, also online) were included. I wanted a product that would allow me to connect to my external backup drive, provide other USB ports, another monitor and a wired Ethernet connection. This product seemed to do it all. However, when I plug in my laptop, the docking station doesn't see the laptop because it doesn't try to renew the IP address, so it doesn't get one. Either it has to keep the IP address even when the laptop is not connected, or it has to recognize that the connection to the laptop has been lost and start the ethernet interface. Anyway, I'm forced to power cycle the dock just to get this wired network connection, bad process, bad execution.
