Review on πŸ”¦ Black Maglite Heavy-Duty Incandescent 4-Cell D Flashlight by Mike Snedeker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They're built like tanks, waterproof

Let's start shopping first by pointing out the key facts about these first generation stores. value for money. Mages earned that reputation from day one, so for that reason alone, they haven't changed to this day. Why change what ain't broken? net.upgrade bulbs, lenses, seals, switches, etc. now one very, very important fact that I see neither written nor mentioned. Because when your batteries run out, just replace them and you're good to go. If your lights are rechargeable, you're screwed if you don't have a generator. This was proven in 2008 when Hurricane Ike made its way into Ohio with sustained winds of 40 to 50 miles per hour. Winds cutting power in my knee of the forest for 3 days. Not only did I have to replace my Ds in my 2 cell and 4 cell, but if there wasn't a long term battery supply I'd be screwed. My brother's batteries died after two nights, blown away by the wind, he only had half a load of his tactical super bright junk. no power to charge. So my point is, if you don't need a super bright, rechargeable, expensive flashlight, don't waste it. your money. I change the batteries in mine every 6-12 months and they are fine. These are lifetime lights. My two 2 cell D's are 18 and 19 years old, they share car duties, hunt, fish, search for dogs and all that. They're scratched up and look like they have h damn it! because they are! Over the past 3 years I have replaced old krypton bulbs with LEDs, making them practically new and 3 times brighter. with LED and a beautiful new glass lens and literally lights up my whole garden. It's a beast, heavy, strong, and lighter than most humans will ever really need. In fact, it is so bright and useful that it accompanies me on all my hunting trips, simply because of the long beam and excellent illumination of the bay in the Appalachian foothills that we roamed. let me say it again 4 cells with even an old fashioned krypton bulb is more than anyone will ever need! If you live in a town with small lots, it will light up not only your lot, but also an area of four lots. This means that two cells less are illuminated and floodlights are sufficient for 99.9% of the general population. We now live in a time of plenty. People should always have the latest and greatest of everything. from new phones, cars, computers. maglite stays true to the old ways of satisfying adequate needs that last a lifetime. hence all these reviews you are reading. Stores are realistic in terms of durability and price.
