Let me start by saying in no way do I believe that these replacement latches will not work for their intended purpose. However, there is a noticeable difference in the click satisfaction you experience compared to OEM retainers. If you look at the picture you can see the crests are more square like the cones on the OEM parts and not the bands on this product. That being said, I've installed them on both the original and non-original female ends and both are holding up quite well. The door panel does detach more easily than with the original locks, but after slamming the door 25 times in real life I have not noticed the door panel detaching from the door itself. For this reason I give it 5 stars and rate it as very good because of the low price.
