Review on πŸ’½ Silver Verbatim 256GB Vx400 USB 3.0 Flash Drive - Store 'n' Go by James Salem

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ultra-fast USB stick (without 4K random recording)

Very good, very fast, extra large USB 3.0 stick with "dual-channel USB 3.0 interface and powerful USB 3.0 Controller with MLC flash for high data transfer speeds and optimal performance. This drive also has a certain weight so it looks well built and sturdy. In fact it's the best USB stick I've ever had and I'm a software developer. It will came with Nero Backup Software but I just copied it from the hard drive to my archive to use later as I don't need it (but you never know if it will be useful later) On the website and product description of Verbatim states that this drive is covered by a "limited lifetime warranty", but the box itself says a 2 year limited warranty, so Verbatim needs to fix that as fast as an SSD? Well, yes and no. sequential reads are pretty fast, writes aren't that bad. but performance is much worse for small random reads and writes. However, it's damn fast for a USB drive. Check out my screenshots where I tested this drive with a 'real' SSD - a 512GB Samsung 850 Pro drive. Verbatim has 355.6 in the top left corner, while the Samsung 850 Pro has 551.3 in the top left corner. It's clear that the Samsung 850 Pro is a lot faster, but this USB drive is no fool for a USB drive unless you expect excellent performance when it comes to the occasional 4K capture (which is clearly a Weak spot). I'm deducting 1/2 stars for the poor random read/write performance compared to "real" SSDs, but I still think it's a really good USB drive overall. 4.5 stars overall and rounded up to 5 stars. A NOTICE. I was sent a free product sample for review. I wasn't paid or told what to write.
