My boat has always been very difficult to drive, it's been about 20 years now of which I've owned 5. Replacing the steering cable helped a little. I also always lubricate all pivot bushings on the lower block. I had no idea how tight this helmet was until I took it off to replace it. I couldn't rotate it manually and had to use channel lock to move it. The new one turns effortlessly, with one finger on the steering wheel. This was a direct replacement for the one in my Capri Bayliner, very easy to install. I recommend this replacement if you have tight handlebars.
