I've used several other people's test indicators in our makerspace, and the feel and quality of this dial is head and shoulders above the cheap Chinese indicators I've worked with in the past. They were good enough to indicate a difference or variation, but I wouldn't trust them to take actual measurements. I know dial indicators are more of a testing tool than a measuring tool, but the needle movements are fairly accurate and repeatable, so I trust this gauge a lot more than others I've used before. Obviously, this isn't the best tool money can buy, but it's undoubtedly a lot. It will take a long time for my processing skills to make it more accurate than this dial, so I'm very pleased.
