Won't fit SSD in iMac HD bay

I replaced the SSD with a 27" Imac (Late 2015 and 2017). The SSD fits snugly in the adapter but not long enough to fit to mount on a Mac. Also the mounting pins that hold the drive in the case have different threads. The threading issue can be solved with brute force and I had to use a zip tie to attach it to the case.
