I bought two of these lights to replace the existing lights in our house. The principle of installation is simple: remove old bracket, connect new bracket, slide over keyholes in base, tighten, test and go. The reality is that both lamps I received were stamped and painted to a degree that the tolerances for the screw lock slots were slightly undersized and therefore it was physically impossible to mount the lamp onto the screws that attach to the joint. ceiling box. Which is hard to understand when you're sitting precariously on a ladder trying to flush-fit a jig (a round pin into an undersized round hole). Also, one of the two lights had wires coming out of the transformer box just above the keyhole, further complicating the installation. You need all the literal wiggle room you can get. Wiggle the bracket crazy around the screw head until you reach an angle where it goes through the round part of the keyhole slot and start tightening the screw to secure it to the ceiling. Then insert a second screw through the bottom of the bracket into the correct open hole in the junction box (it takes a lot of cursing while you look for it, but it will work), being careful not to damage the transformer box in the middle . Tighten both, check and hope everything connects properly and you never have to remove the bracket again. As a side note, I bought another jig with a similar construction from a big store and it was made to the correct tolerances. and it only took five minutes to replace it. It took me 30 minutes and a lot of swearing with this device due to sizing issues.
