I don't like everything about this product for my hedgehog and I want to give 0 stars. Anyone who owns a hedgehog knows that their eyes are naturally slightly protruding. For context, I haven't changed anything about its environment in months, and that's the only thing I've changed. It arrived smelling horribly so I washed it before putting it in its cage. Less than 24 hours later I find him with an eye scratched by some kind of irritant. I didn't immediately think of buddy because I figured it would be safe. After a notenucleation (removal of an eye) I had a one-eyed hedgehog. I just realized it was a buddy because he has problems with his other eye now and I need to inject him more meds for his only eye. Something about this rug gave my hedgehog some sort of nasty reaction, and I think it might hurt other hedgehogs too. If you want this for your hedgehog, buy at your own risk and keep an eye on them. It was a horrible and horrible experience and I will never buy anything like this again for fear. Enucleation is very expensive and my poor child could potentially go blind in the other eye if he doesn't get better or maybe need a second enucleation.
