Review on 1999-2004 Chevrolet Tracker & Suzuki Vitara High Output Alternator - Replaces 13781, AMT0106, A5TA4291 by Alexander Craner

I hate giving a 4 star rating, especially when the vendor got it shipped in a day early; greatly appreciated. However, there was one small problem with the post for the ground. The original was on the back, while this one points off to the side. Actually makes it easier to work with, but the post length is longer than the original, making it impossible to seal the rubber boot properly. May have to come back to this later and cut the post down to size if I start to notice corrosion around the post later on. Other than that, yes, this was a perfect fit and works perfectly.I wanted add these things for installation; has no affect on my rating. I noticed on several other products; not this one; that many where commenting about a tab on the upper mounting bolt, that they had to cut/grind part of the flange down in order to get the alternator mounted. I found this one to have the same, bit I found it to be the sleeve for the upper bolt to keep it from moving. After looking at the bad one I pulled out, I came to realize that you have to use a hammer to pound it further into the housing/flange; problem solved without cutting/grinding, and a perfect fit.I also came to realize the upper mounting area has to be hit with a hammer to spead the opening a little wider. Near impossible to get the alternator into position to allow the upper mounting bolt to slide through properly without doing this. As when you bolt it into place, this mounting area is squeezed into a tighter fit and doesn't return to its original size.
