I bought this wax set mainly because I liked the wax warmer. I liked that it was compact, but I also liked that it came with wax. I've never used hard wax, but this isn't my first wax kit. Before that I had a Gigi wax kit that contained the type of wax you need strips for. To be honest I hate stripes because they're messy and I was really interested in something that didn't require stripes. My Gigi Wax Warmer was getting very dirty and rough and difficult to store as it's bulky so I just wanted a new wax kit. This wax warmer melts the two packs of wax it comes with pretty quickly. You turn it on high first and then leave it on medium to keep it warm. In that respect it worked great. When I used it, I first dusted some baby powder on my skin/hair and waxed it like I normally would and it removed the hair from my arms fairly quickly without much pain. From one of the photos I've attached it looks like I may have been allergic to it. But being fair skinned and bruising easily, my skin has always reacted like this to waxing and cleared up the next day. Also shown in another image I've included. My skin was perfectly fine so I think the wax that comes with it is decent too and very easy to use. Much easier than my striped Gigi wax, less painful and convenient, and quicker too since you don't have to fiddle with applying strips after waxing. I definitely recommend it and it's great for beginners. If you're worried about a true allergic reaction, maybe apply the wax to a small part of your arm and give it some time to see how your skin reacts. Knowing my skin and how it reacts to waxing, I used chilled aloe to apply afterwards. Cold Aloe soothes redness and reduces swelling, redness and pain. I am very satisfied with this wax set and can only recommend it. If anything changes I will update my review.
