Best product I've used against toilet rust

I know you're thinking who the hell takes the time to write a product review to remove rust? I know I thought about it before I bought it. I don't usually write reviews, but in this case I'm making an exception. Wow, did that thing work well before! I live in the country and have very bad iron spots almost everywhere. We just learned to live with it and somehow control it by using special salt pellets to remove iron. We ran out of salt in our softener a long time ago and kept forgetting to buy more. As a result, our toilets and tanks just look awful! Tried cleaning with bleach and pumice stone. While this helped, the entire area covered in water turned discolored even after the water was removed and cleaned. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner and take photos to show the comparison! When I opened it I noticed it wasn't a bad smell so I figured it wouldn't work very well. I confess I was completely wrong. I just poured 1/2 cup down the toilet and started sizzling. Less than 5-10 minutes later when I checked the whole bowl was clean. I have no idea what's in this stuff, but I know I'll never buy anything else because of rust. Haven't tried it in an aquarium yet (suggesting it may need to sit all night) but I'm hoping for good results.

Pros
  • Ideal for geographic areas with hard water and high iron levels
