Lettuce won't dry out

Spin speed much slower than our previous manual salad spinner. It's not spinning fast enough to remove excess water from the lettuce. After a while, SaladXPress became noticeably slower. It was replaced with a new one under warranty. The new one is no better than the first. We gave up on SaladXPress and bought a manual salad bowl from OXO SoftWorks.
