Rats are so misunderstood! Almost everyone is raised to believe that rats are evil, mean, and only found in trash/sewage. But once you get to know one of them, and they get to know you (it only takes a few days), they literally become little dogs! They're sociable, happy to see you, come to you when you call them, can play fetch (no kidding!), and most importantly, have fun! But there's always a catch. they live no more than 45 years. During this time, however, do them a favor and give them the best you can in terms of a home, bed, and of course, food! This is good stuff. Our rats love it and usually keep me up at night but I'm glad to know they are getting the right nutrition.
