I ordered these because the larger trays take up so much space and are cumbersome. These turn out to be ideal for keeping seeds separated (one label per tray is included) by starter tray in smaller gardens. They are small so easily moved around and don't bend or flop. 1. Place the vent upside down on a hard flat surface.2. Place the clear cover also upside down, centering the hole over the post.3. Use fingertips to press down hard all around the post so the clear plastic really clicks down firmly around the post. They will never fall off again.Very happy with them. Love how the roots are visible in the clear compartments yet they live in the dark inside the green tray. Used gently, I expect they will last several seasons.

Used these trying to start a multitude of seeds indoors so that my cats wouldn’t attack of them, the lids do come off a little easily if you have aggressive play time animals running about, however they are great for what I purchased them for, starting seeds. The little dial on the top where you can let the air in or close it keeping moisture in, in my opinion perfect seed starting trays

They are sturdy enough to use over and over if you take care of them. I use the warming pads designed to help germinate the seeds quickly. I tried the peat pellets for some seeds but I think they restrict root growth too much so they worked better with using the clear inserts and a good potting soil. The clear covers helps hold moisture inside which is recommended when using the warming pads in case you forget to water when needed.

Pay attention to description to be sure you are getting the size you want - these are NOT 1020 trays - they are quite small but good for small starter batches you want to keep separate or put in a small space, or only start a few plants.

Growing seeds is made so easy! Pour a little water in the base , use the cover, and you are set for several days. That's my feedback.

Just the right size to get your seedlings started. Does not take up a whole lot of space which is a plus for me getting them started on my fireplace hearth. Comes with individual drip trays so no drippy mess to deal with. Vent is easy to install on tray cover and spins easily to close or open. Definitely a good buy.

Notes: I did sprout my seeds before planting in here.It’s been a month since I planted my sprouts and they have been doing so well. The tools that came with it were great.I recently planted these into dirt and are doing well. It’s nice to see your roots vs the compostable ones you plant.Did not use the lids for very long.

Bought these after looking at the trays that hold more. I like these much better, because I can start one type of seed and then put other types in other trays, since not all types of seeds have the same germination time. This is great for small scale raised bed gardening. I paired them with a Vivosun heat mat with thermostat and I can put 3 of these on one mat. I tried 3 different seed starting kits, 2 with pellets and this set with deep seed starting pods. You add your own soil. I also used egg cartons and clear produce clamshells. This kit was the most reliable with the fewest leggy seedlings. Unlike larger trays, these were sturdier and easier to handle. The included tools are useful and seem durable. These are easy to use. I don't think they will hold up long term but they are good for starting small amounts of seeds. I like the idea of being able to easily see the root system without having to pop the plant out or wait for roots to come out the bottom. We shall see!

These are not large planting flats so check size and make sure this is what you want. The small dibble tools and labels came in handy. Good purchase!

Easy to use and even better, easy to remove the sprouted seedling! Some products I have used, you end up either breaking the product to get the seedlings out undamaged or you damage the seedling. They ARE reusable!My only dislike is the little disc on the top, used to control airflow, is just resting on the top, not attached. Wind blows it off.

In case you didn't know, the vents snap snugly from the inside of the cover , not on the top. Would ha liked it better if it had been reusable but it's not. Good product though

A great value for the money. Everything I needed to start my seeds, including tools the appropriate size for the trays. Even included a moisture control on the top of the trays. Well worth the money.

Needing to start plants from tiny seeds can be a nightmare, but starting them where they won't wash away is a great advantage.

The containers are sturdy and a good size but it's very very hard to get the plants out without damaging the roots. Maybe the buttons need to be more flexible.I don't know.

These are working well, however once they arrived, they were actually much smaller than what I was expecting, based on the pictures online. However they do work, and I’ve got several already planted. It’s nice because they are not peat pots, (so don’t leak) so I can easily put a couple of them in the kitchen window.

Bought these as a gift, and they were more sturdy than I'd expected. Also, the form factor makes for easy handling and good use of space, and off-season storage.I plan to buy a set for myself.
