Review on MEKBOK Blade Mandoline Slicer: Premium Stainless Steel Slicer for Effortless and Precise Slicing by Kerrick Restoration

Disappointment with mandoline and planing machines

This is not one of the cheapest mandoline planers in its price range. But maybe I set my expectations too high. I found the product difficult to use. The plastic inserts are very thin and tend to grab food when flexed back and forth. The blades aren't as sharp and require a fair amount of pressure to cut anything harder than zucchini. The food slicer itself cannot be washed in the dishwasher. I used it to slice some onions and it saved some time but it wasn't secure due to the pressure required and the slices didn't even come out due to the flexing of the plastic insert. Then I spent as much time as I saved hand washing the item. The handle wasn't very good and I usually had to handle the food with my hand (not sure if the handle is to blame or the fact that the blades can't easily cut veggies). I returned it after 2 weeks. I used a Cuisinart mandolin at a friend's house and it worked great even though it was plastic. I'll try to find a good price for it. I like her look so I give her one star. Therefore.
