Review on ASUS I7 9750H GeForce Backlit Keyboard by Serotonin Collazo

Asus RAID still sucks, I have problems with fully loaded 3600 RAM at full speed, but I'm happy with the value of

It's been about 20 years since I looked at AMD based RAID on Asus based boards. I usually build custom Asus systems based on Intel. This last workaround was done with this B550 based prime board on a 6/16/20 release date (actually 6/18/20 with shipping). I probably wouldn't leave a review, but I just got an email from Asus asking me to leave it. there he is. Setup: Current BIOS at the time of this review using NVMe m2 RAID with two Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB drives. 64GB RAM (specs below) and Ryzen 3900x, Fractal Design and all. It still: - Requires a driver disk to install the latest version of Windows 10 : / - When using RAID 1, a hard drive cannot be inserted into an external reader to export critical data in the event of a motherboard failure. [HARD STOPPING] To me, that's a lot worse than no RAID at all, and that's #1 why I'm leaving a less than stellar review. The time it took to figure it all out was overwhelming for an engineer who's only built his own Intel-based systems for decades and is also used to a Dell model where using it in RAID 1 doesn't allow for the ability to remove excludes and read it. it is external. Maybe I just had too high expectations. Point 2: I also don't get "G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (for AMD Ryzen) Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-pin RGB DDR4 SDRAM Desktop Memory F4-3600C18D- 32GTZN RAM in a 64GB configuration at full speed to run (4 bars) over the BIOS setting to determine and use the correct speed for the main memory. I think it's a bit stable at 35xx but still disappointing. (shakes head). I ordered a larger power supply from Fractal, but this one also disappointed me. I hope Asus can sort this out. Plus, it's a solid board and a great value. It's also great to have a mini-ATX form factor and the ability to install 4 sticks of RAM. I would go back to the X570 board but couldn't find an Asus board that supports 4 sticks.

Pros
  • . Improved memory performance: Proprietary ASUS OptiMem tracing circuitry allows memory kits to run at higher frequencies with lower voltages to maximize system performance.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
