I bought one of these a few years ago because I wasn't a fan of headsets at all and would rather just use the good speakers I had for my PC instead of a headset for chatting while gaming . Unfortunately, while the audio here was pretty good, even with the supposed noise cancellation and settings in Windows to prevent it, it still wasn't enough to prevent this mic from picking up sound from the speakers. This led to people complaining about the echo and audibility of my audio over voice communications. Although I bought it to avoid using a headset or headphones, I still ended up using a pair of headphones when playing with friends. The microphone also had excellent reception. My voice was always comfortable and clear for those on the phone, and the sensitivity of the microphone was really impressive. I have a mechanical clock with a chime in my living room down the hall and around the corner, but when it chimes, people can hear it perfectly. When I went to the kitchen to get something, they could hear the fridge closing or drawers opening and closing, even though the kitchen was even further away than the living room. This little mic seemed able to pick up almost any sound clearly from anywhere in the house. However, this also meant that there would be problems as my phone buzzing around the room would be very annoying to people, or if I banged on the table the mic would turn on causing the sound to go to theirs end would be quite loud. However, they ended up serving me well for 7 years before I finally replaced them. I finally decided that if I had to wear headphones anyway, I might as well get a really good pair. And since the best gaming headsets have microphones, I ended up buying a headset. At first I only used them as headphones, but one day I tried out their microphone part and callers said that the quality of the vocals was much better and it no longer picked up all the background noise. So I ended up switching to a headset mic and now it just hangs in my desk drawer as a backup. Although it has worked well for many years, there are better options out there. (especially since I see the price is over $100 now? I paid way less than when I bought it)
