I used this as a PF Sense router to replace my Verizon Fios router. It fits the bill pretty well. The processor is powerful enough for this use and has plenty of RAM to work with. Another nice thing is that the processor has AES-NI, which is a big plus for using it as a VPN gateway for my home network. It can even run Suricata (Intrusion Detection) with ease. It's fairly small, which is ideal, and doesn't use a lot of power. Which is also perfect. The only real complaint I have about it is that it has Realtek NICs, which isn't the end of the world, you can get 3rd party FreeBSD drivers for that. But there are better cards (there are some minor issues I found in pfsense with realtek nics) that come with better drivers.
