I wanted to add some more light and color to my desktop so I installed them on the back of the monitor. They came with an extra roll of tape but I didn't need it as there is more than enough self-adhesive backing on the strip itself. This strip was long enough to span my 24 inch widescreen monitor on three sides. You have to bend the corners a bit, but that worked well. The corners stick out a bit, of course, but you never see them behind the screen. Monitor. Bright (just right in my opinion and not TOO bright even at the brightest) and colourful. You can choose from 7 preset colors or set different color changing modes. I can't imagine why anyone would want harsh flashing lights behind their monitor, but I ended up using a mode that changes colors slowly and smoothly. You can also adjust the speed of the modes and I went with the slowest. My only real complaint, which is very minor, is that there is no documentation anywhere that I could find. They are easy enough to use, but I do would have liked to see a list of modes instead of clicking on them. them all one by one and trying to figure out what each one was. Instead of plugging a USB into my monitor, I plugged in a USB adapter a few feet away so I could turn them on or off with Alexa and a smart plug. A socket doesn't have much length, however, so be prepared to have either a socket within a few feet or some form of extension cord (either electrical or USB extender). In general, I am completely satisfied with them. !
