To be honest if I were only sealing 1 or 2 items at a time I would give this item 5 stars. But I usually seal a bit more than that at a time. I source and process my own meat and we shop at Costco and I like to cut my food into smaller portions. The instructions for this device say to wait 1 minute after each fill. It is also not recommended to seal more than 1-2 items in a row. For that reason alone I give the device 1 star because it is unusable for my purpose. I don't want to seal food all day! If you don't seal a lot at once, you'll probably love this device. Be sure to depress the locking handle until it is fully seated, otherwise the device will not function. I tried sealing the lid and closing the lid a couple of times and it kind of snapped into place, but I found I had to apply some pressure to it even after it appeared to be locked before the device worked.
