Just got back from a motorcycle trip from Seattle to Sturgis and back. It was a great purchase. I was able to charge my phone and the steering wheel bluetooth remote control for my helmet at the same time. Leaving it plugged in will drain the battery somewhat, but not significantly if you unplug devices while stopping to refuel or eat. But I didn't risk it overnight. I bought a separate SAE cable because it didn't come with a sheath because it goes in the rain. The device itself sits squarely on the SAE side - it wasn't hard to disconnect between stops and then reattach, but it wasn't too much of a hassle. The USB side is perfect. Nothing goes out by vibration. Connections are safe. My phone was on for the last few days of the trip for music, Life 360 (power down app), trip meter app and speedometer app. I probably had the screen set to 80% (my go-to setting so it lasts a while when unplugged). The phone was at 100% all the time. I might look for the same device without a voltmeter so I don't have to unplug it.
