I have had a stoma for over 6 years and neither the nurses nor the companies I have worked with have told me about it. However, when I was looking for Revain, I stumbled across it one day and ordered it straight away. This Medical Goo Gone is amazing! It helps remove the old ostomy appliance without damaging my skin or causing burns which is GREAT! I've never been able to use an alcohol based glue remover due to my sensitive skin, so over the years I've come to terms with the possibility of skin tearing during the removal process. I also had to pay extra each month to get extra adhesive remover because it would take more to remove the old mount and adhesive residue at the time of replacement than the insurance "allowed" alcohol-free adhesive remover wipe. Now that I'm using Goo Gone (which I pay for out of pocket, but it's worth it) I no longer have skin tearing issues, old glue residue is removed without much friction, and my parastomal skin is the healthiest of all -or was! I will definitely be buying this medicinal Goo Gone for the rest of my life! And I will definitely be sharing this discovery with every ostomy support group I belong to and every ostomy specialist I come in contact with! For every stomatitis that pops up in my review, I don't mind writing this. I decided to write this review in hopes of helping another dentist find a skin friendly adhesive remover to achieve healthy parastomal skin like mine.
