Public Service Announcement: I have purchased 9 of these refurbished units and 3 had to be returned due to problems ( Two of them all worked, except that some of the ethernet ports were dead - on one of them the Wi-Fi radio wouldn't turn on). The "price of a lemon" is relatively high, so you should know this before you buy it. That being said, if you're happy to test-drive the hardware -- at $40 or less if you can get a good one -- that's a pretty decent price if you're using the stock firmware (I'd personally choose a different unit if I'm running stock firmware). However, if you can get a good one and flash a tomato (visit freshtomato.org for the latest version that supports this router) - what you get for $40 is an incredible price - so good I've been buying it again and again ever since $40 buy I need them (just remember to remove the tires during the 30 day return period). The devices come with a new ethernet cable and most importantly a new power supply, interestingly I have received power supplies from 4 different brands so far. In the test, the device consumes about 10.5 watts in standby mode (doesn't win). energy efficiency price - but not bad either). Via a 5GHz radio with local file transfer - I can transfer within 20 feet at 45MB/s - which is fairly reliable and meets my needs. The 5 GHz bandwidth is mediocre to good - the same goes for 2.4 GHz. If the Lemon's speed was lower I would have given more stars as the Tomato works so well on this hardware.
