I bought this for my 2 year old daughter who will soon be 3 in 2 months. So I think I bought it in time for its age. I probably love it more than she does, but I love it because this product is so well thought out. The creator really singled out this toy among all other products that teach the same thing. He will teach the little ones in a playful (percussive) way. I really like it when he reads the alphabets, we really understood every letter. Some educational toys I've bought in the past couldn't understand some letters. When he teaches colors: If they pick the wrong one, he says that color and then asks them to try again. He also teaches counting with instructions and counts with them, for example: press yellow 5 times or blue 3 times, and he counts each hit and repeats the question if he hit many times.
