We bought this fan to replace a broken fan in my wife's HP laptop. The fan was an exact replacement for the existing fan, and it was easy enough to replace, although the tools that came with it (which were a bonus!) didn't have a torx bit, so while I was already planning on using my own tools, I would , if I still wouldn't. After installing and assembling the laptop, the fan works fine, but when running at high power for some reason, the fan makes a much more noticeable hum than the one it was replaced with. Not bad in most cases, but you can hear it from a video or audio call in progress on your computer. In general, the fan works as it should, but at some point you might consider looking for something a little quieter.
